Spend a few moments with Pure Envy Jewellery founders, Scott & Cathy Anthony, and it’s easy to see how they BURST onto the Adelaide JEWELLERY scene 22 years ago and have cemented their reputation as the BEST in the business ever since.

Building Pure Envy wasn’t just about creating beautiful jewellery. It was about crafting a reputation, fostering trust, and being a part of something that people will cherish forever.” Scott explains. “We are not in the business of just selling jewellery. We’re in the business of turning emotions into tangible treasures that people carry with them for the rest of their lives.”

The duo opened the doors to their first showroom back in 2002 and have been redefining the custom jewellery experience ever since. Their first showroom nestled in Hyde Park set the tone: fresh, modern and unapologetically different. They innovated yet again with a fresh, appointment only space in their new Studio on Gilles Street in 2018. But, one thing has stayed consistent across both locations: Clients were never just buying a ring, they were stepping into a space where their stories were at the heart of every piece. From engagement rings and wedding bands to bespoke pieces, Pure Envy became a trusted name for quality craftsmanship and excellence.

But, it has never just been about the pieces they create for the pair. They’ve had a solid focus on client experience and relationships from day one.

“Everything we’ve done, every decision we’ve made, has been about staying true to who we are as a family-run business. We’ve always wanted to make sure our clients feel like a part of that family too.” Scott says.

Over the years Pure Envy’s precision for excellence has been recognised with over 14 industry awards. But for Scott and Cathy the most rewarding accolades come from the countless testimonials and happy clients they’ve been lucky enough to work with. “We’ve had the privilege of witnessing countless love stories unfold, from the nervous excitement of choosing an engagement ring to the joy of returning years later with growing families,” Cathy shares. “It’s been an honour to be part of those moments and build lasting connections with our clients.”

“When you work with your hands to make something that will last a lifetime, it becomes more than a job—it’s a commitment to creating beauty and meaning.”

For their daughter, Emily, who has worked alongside them for the past 11 years, the journey has been a reflection of the family values that have always been at the heart of the business. “I’ve been lucky enough to witness the vision take shape from the very beginning—from logo choices strewn across the lounge room floor to closing the doors today; I’m proud to be a part of the legacy they’ve built,” Emily says. “We make every single decision grounded in integrity and we stand by what we do,” Emily continues.

While Scott brings the vision to life on the bench he credits a lot of Pure Envy’s success to Cathy. “Without her, none of this would have been possible.” Scott says. “Cathy has been the heart and soul of Pure Envy. She’s not just my partner in business; she’s my partner in life. Her ability to connect with people and bring our designs to life is what makes this place so unique.”

While Pure Envy may be closing its doors, its impact on the Adelaide jewellery landscape is undeniable. As Scott and Cathy step into the next chapter, their influence will continue to shine through the countless clients whose lives they’ve touched and the priceless momentos they’ve been entrusted to create.
