Real People – Real Stories
We Had Found The Person Who Was Our Equal, Our Best Friend and Person We Had Been Waiting to Meet All Our Lives…
How They Met…
We connected through the internet and after a few short text messages we decided to meet up for a picnic at Carrick Hill.
Very brave of us really, it’s a bit hard to do a runner from Carrick Hill if it wasn’t working out.
Luckily for us, neither of us wanted to run.
We felt completely at ease with each other from the moment we met.
A one hour picnic turned into an entire afternoon of funny stories and tender moments and our beautiful friendship was cemented immediately.
The Moment She Knew He Was ‘The One’…
Looking back we both knew on that day…
…we had found the person who was our equal, our best friend and person we had been waiting to meet all our lives.
How He Asked…
Will You Marry Me?…
After 1 1/2 years of a wonderful romance Andrew decided the time was right to propose.
He tried for months to find the right moment, fabricating stories to get me into position for the big question…
…but the world and it’s busyness just kept getting in the way to propose as planned!
So eventually he gave up and booked Windy Point Restaurant which he knew was my ‘happy’ place when I was growing up.
It was all very last minute and we dashed off for an early booking after getting into our finery.
Andrew had already phoned the restaurant late in the afternoon and told them he was going to propose and simply MUST have a table.
He told me the only way he got the booking was to tell them it was my Birthday! ha!
Quite the surprise when dessert came out asking ‘Will You Marry Me?’ on the platter!
Tears of joy and laughter from us (and other diners) and there you have it…
…the proposal finally came to fruition!
Her Favourite Moment from their Special Day…
There were so many wonderful wedding day moments of course…
…but my favourite was dancing down the aisle at Carrick Hill to my handsome husband to be, holding his hands for the first time at the alter.
We both looked into each others eyes and were smiling with glee that we were finally at the moment we had been waiting for since that first picnic at the very same place.
A beautiful fairytale for a beautiful loving friendship that will last forever.
We know we are so very lucky and cherish each moment we share.
